Valentine's Day is quickly approaching. What does it mean to YOU?
Valentine's Day for me is a time to just love on my kids and husband and just be thankful for these little blessings in life. But for me, it's not just the warm, soft fluffy love. It goes deeper than that.
What is love to you? What does UNCONDITIONAL love mean to you? Who comes to mind when you think of unconditional love?
To me I think of God and the love He has for me. It's unconditional which means no strings attached. Although I have sinned and fallen short as a wife, mother, friend, etc, etc He is forgiving and loves me no matter how I messy I make things. And believe me. I am an artist. I make a mess of everything!
As a busy wife and mother I get worn out pretty quickly. And believe me, I am writing this with a cup of coffee in my hand. Well, not really. I have to type. But you get the idea ;)
The point is that we can come to him TIRED, worn and weary and He will always lift us up. We just have to allow God to intervene. Fully, completely give your heart to Him.
Remember on Thursday that even though the mushy, gushy love is great, the love of God far surpasses any other earthly love.
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
... Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
